Don’t ever say that we can’t take life seriously – this week on the AV15 we’re actually doing a proper interview as we meet Rachel, an animal rights activist.
Rachel works for the Philadelphia office of The Humane League, a non-profit organization that looks to protect animals from cruelty, especially those involved with the food industry. Rachel herself is a practicing vegan, though as she points out, that isn’t a prerequisite for anyone wondering what they can do to make a difference.
We asked Rachel about the food industry, the effects lobbyists are having on those looking to blow the whistle on cruel and inhumane practices, why modern society eats what it eats, and what she hopes to achieve at the sharp end of the issues
Rachel asked that we link the following videos – be warned, some of the images are disturbing. And if you want to learn more or get involved, e-mail us at atlanticvoice@gmail.com and we’ll put you in touch with Rachel.
